The story of a woman who moves from L.A. back to her hometown in Georgia in order to win back custody of the daughter's she walked out on.
After the sudden death of her husband, Delia Byrd packs her rebellious daughter Cissy and everything she owns into a car and heads back to her hometown of Cayro, Georgia, launching a journey of a thousand miles and two decades to reclaim her roots. Her wish is to regain custody of the children she abandoned years ago; but that means confronting the demons of her first marriage, the hostility of his family, the bitter attitudes of an unforgiving community, and winning back the trust of her two daughters.
