Marilyn Gambrell is a parole officer who has just had enough. Her parolees are ending up back in prison and the cycle is repeating itself in their children. Marilyn determines to create a social initiative that will transform the lives of hundreds of teenagers from the most run-down projects in Houston. She develops a programme called No More Victims, against huge opposition from the local schools and from the very children she is trying to help. But in no time she has the kids experiencing something unknown, an adult taking them seriously and loving them, letting them bring to the surface all their anger, rage, bitterness from growing up abused, neglected and betrayed in the worst ways.
